Is an URL xxx.yyy.tld naked or not if xxx ≠ www ?

I guess not, and for Webservers having a name below the second level
domain, the whole argument does not hold water. Or does it?

I do second that each page should have a canonical URL and all other
URLs should be redirected there with a 301.
