Hi,
I am looking for a good opensource intranet package with an IT
Operations bias.
Eg: we monitor network and systems via BigBrother, Cacti, track
tickets via Request Tracker

I want a way to tie it all together and extend it with phpBB or wiki,
cvsview via web for editting systems files etc
We have webDAV resources and I'd like to do more with publishing and
dynamically updated content. PHP based seems the way to go for this.

Freshmeat and sourceforge give a few good candidates, but some are
overkill
in areas a network and sysadmin group don't need...

Thanks for any pointers, recommendations,

Fletch.

Hi Fletcher

Maybe you need to write a list of features that you want to implement on
your Intranet (if you need a guide, contact me and I can let you have a
list from my research project)and then look at how to use
"off-the-shelf" systems.

Also are you planning to integrate existing systems e.g. Lotus notes?

You might want to have a look at some of the following:
http://www.hotscripts.com/Detailed/20909.html
http://www.hotscripts.com/Detailed/16983.html
http://www.dotnetnuke.com/DesktopDefault.aspx
http://www.adenin.com/DynamicIntranet.asp
or some of the standard PHP portals see:
http://www.intranetjournal.com/articles/200307/ij_07_30_03a.html for
discussion on PHP-Nuke but there are lots of others e.g. MyPHPNuke (easy
to make modifications to the code and use the bits you want).

Cheers

Nick
