hey,

Does anyone know if www6 (like for example, www6.at.anything.com)
signifies anything? isp.tm.net.my supposedly represents ISPs. Thanks
in advance!

In the example you give, it signifies the name of a host within the
domain at.anything.com. Nothing more, nothing less.

Pardon? How does that relate to the question? If you don't know
what isp.tm.net.my represents, you might consider checking whether
there is a Web server at that address. Indeed there is, so the page
http://isp.tm.net.my probably contains what the organization behind it
wants the public to know about it.

The isp.tm.net.my url points to the webserver for an Internet Service
Provider. Question here really is, whether there is a new trend in
using the beginnings of an url, ie. intranet.my.home to represent
certain things in general. U know, like ftp represents an ftp server
and telnet represents a telnet server?? So maybe www6 has some other
significance...

You can do if you want.

U know, like ftp represents an ftp server
ftp doesn't need to represent an ftp server.

So maybe www6 has some other significance...
It's the 6th machine from the left.
Or maybe it's IPv6-connected.

So i agree... maybe it is a new trend after all. Oh well, we've only
to wait and see, i guess :)
